The 521 Bus at Halesworth Railway Staion

To get to Southwold by train from London go from London Liverpool Street where you need the East Suffolk Line bound for Ipswich/Lowestoft. You will need to change at Ipswich. The rail service is operated by National Express.

For Southwold you have a choice of either the station at Darsham or the station at Halesworth. Both stations are about ten miles from Southwold.

Travelling from the London/Ipswich direction you reach Darsham first. This station though is right by the A12 road with just a few houses and businesses close by. Darsham village is a distance away. Halesworth station links to Southwold mainly by the bus service 520 operated by Anglian Buses (timetables available on their website) as well as other services. The 520 service runs between Halesworth and Southwold calling at Halesworth train station and will set down in Southwold Market Place. If boarding the bus at Halesworth remember to go to the bus stop on the 'uphill' side of the station, not the car park side. There are appropriate signs displayed.
If you are being collected by car most people in Southwold or Walberswick would use Darsham station.
