20A Pier Avenue is a modern cottage-style property, furnished to a high standard, with gas central heating and double glazing throughout.

It is the middle one of three on Pier Avenue, a wide residential road in a quiet part of Southwold. The centre of Southwold, the beach, the pier and the common are all five to ten minutes walk away.

  • The Kitchen/Diner is well equipped, including electric and microwave cookers and fridge with freezer compartment, as well as a table and 2 chairs. It gets the morning sun and looks towards St Edmund's church (the tower can be seen above the intervening houses).
  • The Sitting/Dining Room is attractively furnished, and has a sofa and easy chair, dining table and chairs, and remote control colour TV; sliding patio doors open onto steps down to the garden. From this side of the house the marshes can be seen between the houses in North Road (a very nice walk is across the marshes, round the lake, along the promenade and back via the common -hardly any of the journey is along the roadside).
  • The garden has a paved area with 2 tubs of plants, flower beds and a lawn, all of which are well maintained; visitors are just asked to water the tubs when they are dry. Garden furniture in the garden.
  • Double Bedroom upstairs with double bed, wardrobe etc also with views across the marshes toward Reydon.
  • Single Bedroom with single bed.
  • Bathroom (bath with mixer shower).
  • Off-road parking bay at the side or parking on-road outside.
  • Non-smokers only

4 Ewen Close is in a quiet part of Reydon, a short drive from the centre of Southwold - a 15 - 20 minute walk. It is an attractive, architect-designed open-plan property, being one of four built in 1991 on the site of the old parish hall, which is why the bedroom window is the shape it is. The property is set back from, and faces away from, the road. It is well decorated and maintained, with fitted carpets and double-glazing throughout.

The property has its own off-road parking space in the courtyard, at the front of the four properties. The nearby Peter Boyden's Stores and off-licence is well run, comprehensive and friendly. A public telephone and a letterbox are by the shop. Barbrooks' Stores is a 5 minute walk away, on the Lowestoft Road, towards Southwold, opens early and sells newspapers - and much more.
